Auntie M's Anti Essential Oil/Disinfecting Spray
Now that we are into the full swing of fall and and in some regions winter has descended with snow, it's time to be prepared to ward off colds and flus. Whenever I notice a sore throat starting or that tell tale head ache, I aim for my essential oil cabinet (every good aromatherapist has one.) I pick out oils that'll get me through and hopefully, transform what's coming on into good health.
When it's a cold or flu feeling, I choose Auntie M's Anti. The story behind this blend is that I "received" the formula out of love for my dear friend, Marguerite, who just wasn't healing from stomach virus challenges. I concocted her a blend of oils that are antibiotic, antifungal, antiparasitic, antiseptic, antiviral, anti-bacterial and any other "anti" you can come up with. The formula stuck as I made her replacement bottles. Once I had the "a-ha" moment to name it and bottle it, it's been a staple of The Crystal Garden line of essential oils.
The name was given to me by my aromatherapy teacher, Annie. We were playing with names and because I'm an Aunt Margaret to so many she developed the idea of Auntie M. One of my best friend's daughter calls me Auntie M - reminiscent of Auntie Em in the Wizard of Oz. Obviously the play on words because of all those anti-oils worked perfectly.
This blend is the perfect combination to take on a plane, to a hotel or any place where you come into contact with germs, bacteria and virus. It certainly clears the sinuses very quickly.
There are two ways I suggest using Auntie M's Anti.
place a dollop of unscented lotion in the palm of your hand and drop a few drops of the essential oil into it. Rub your hands together to emulsify it. Then apply the combination to the soles of your feet.
place 4 - 7 drops on a bandana or scarf and wear the scarf around your neck. If your concerned about the fashion police, wear this charming suggestion at home alone!
I recommend that you only use medical grade oils. Of course, The Crystal Garden label oils, sprays and mists are all medical grade.
